Just when the Nation was recovering from the loss of Tarun Gogoi, news, three days apart created a stir in the political sphere. The Nation had to bid goodbye to yet another remarkable and extraordinary leader of the Indian National Congress Ahmed Patel. On the 25th of November, 2020, a tweet from his son Faisal Patel informed the world about his untimely demise. He was tested positive for Covid-19 and later was succumbed by multiple organ failure.
It is true to agree on the words of Rahul Gandhi who called him the “Pillar of Indian National Congress”. He was not just a close political advisor to Sonia Gandhi but was also a strong leader who worked tirelessly for the people. His achievements of not having government power and yet working in the realms of social work will always be remembered by us. Ahmed Patel also represented Gujarat for eight terms in the Parliament of India, three terms in Lok Sabha from the year of 1977-1989, and five times in Rajya Sabha from the year 1993-2020. Political Leaders like him have always and will always make the country strong. His presence will be missed by all of us.
There is no denying to the fact that the treasure box of the Indian Politicians has once again lost a precious gem from it. At 71, his soul finally rests in peace.
