Death Anniversary of Sahir Ludhianvi, A Great Indian Poet

maiñ zindagī kā Saath nibhātā chalā gayā
har fikr ko dhueñ meñ uḌātā chalā gayā

We lost a great Indian poet ‘Abdul Hayee’ popularly known as Sahir Ludhianvi on 27th October 1980.

Today, on his death anniversary, Manmeet Narang is presenting a video by Mana
Matta ‘Sahir Aur Jaadu’ from the book “Dyodhi” written by Gulzar.

Manmeet is a writer by passion and a facilitator by choice.

She has worked extensively with children in the field of creative writing through
her organization Sailing Leaf. She has authored several children’s books and
forayed into adult fiction in 2018 with her short story in the anthology ‘The Other’.
Her second short story was published in ‘Escape Velocity’ the same year. Several
of her articles have appeared in Daily O, The Better India, Women’s Web. She was
declared the winner of Write India Contest season 3 by Times of India which was
judged by noted poet, lyricist, and filmmaker Gulzar.

Manmeet writes and recites poetry in Punjabi and Hindi. Presently she is doing a
video series Amrit which is dedicated to the poetry of legendary poet Amrita
Pritam.
